The Breeder gallery presents the first solo exhibition of Eleni Christodoulou from 2 March to 1 April 2006. The showcase demonstrates the large-scale painting (360 x 600 cm) entitled "Wave Optics". On its vast painterly surface four intertwined scenarios unfold between the almost lost mathematical greed, created by sixty wooden panels, that over float with coloured wax. Eleni Christodoulou uses bold colour, flat, non-hierarchical and free of any shading techniques. The use of the three preliminary colours intensify this multi-dimensional virtual topos fragmented by black and white lines. An intriguing exchange of vortexes, loops, colours and built-in narratives, are organized in a manner not dissimilar to "flat screen" monitors and thus creating an all over spatial impression.
