The Athens' Goethe Institut presents exhibition of German ecological architecture through February 24, 2006. Contemporary Germany hosts excellent cases of ecological architecture that cover a wide range of buildings - from houses to industrial ones. The showcase demonstrates nine samples, ranging from infant schools to administration buildings and ecological industries. Ecological architecture is connected with a series of factors such as the selection of the building plots based on urban planning, the orientation of a building based on energy consumption and technical standards. New trends combine high technology, an original aesthetical perspective and environmental friendly techniques. In addition to the exhibition, a seminar entitled "Bioclimatic planning and architectural language" takes place at the same venue on February 23 from 17:00 to 21:00.
